Both the manga and anime have been licensed in the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom. The Studio Deen production aired on TV Tokyo from Juntil December 23, 2002, for a total of 26 episodes. The manga was adapted into an animatedtelevision series in 2002. Samurai Deeper Kyo was serialized from Octoto in Kodansha's Weekly Shōnen Magazine, and collected over 38 volumes.
